Early career scientist travel bursaries

Travel bursaries are available for the International Society of Animal Genetics to assist with early career scientist participation in the conference. The awards are equivalent to 1600 Euros for those outside of Australia and New Zealand and 800 Euros for those within Australia and New Zealand. Applicants must be ISAG members. To apply, you must be currently enrolled as a student or have received your Masters or PhD in the last 3 years. You also must have not received a previous travel award from the Society. Documentation verifying your status as a student or as a recent graduate must be provided. This can included formal certification from your University or a letter from your supervisor.

Please apply for a travel award using the form below if you are eligible. To receive the bursary, you must:

1. Be a current member of ISAG. You will be asked to supply your membership number during the application process to verfiy membership status. To renew your ISAG membership, go to: https://secure.fass.org/dues.asp.

2. Submit an abstract, attend the conference and present a poster. You will be asked to supply your abstract number during the application process. To submit an abstract, go to: http://www.isag.us/2012/abstract.asp.

3. You may then apply for the travel bursary.

The deadline for travel bursary applications is March 15th, 2012. The travel bursaries will be formally presented towards the end of the conference, but you will be notified of the success of your application beforehand.

AusAid travel awards

The Australian conference organizers are applying on behalf of conference attendees from AusAid supported countries for travel support. AusAid applicants must not be eligible for the early career travel bursaries. AusAid applicants must be members of ISAG. To be considered for AusAid travel support, please send your CV, flight costs to Cairns and a supporting statement (300 words or less) to Cynthia Bottema by March 15th, 2012.
