The International Society for Animal Genetics (ISAG) aims to promote scientific research and studies on animal heredity, facilitating the exchange of ideas and materials between researchers worldwide. This includes organizing congresses, arranging international comparative tests, and supporting measures conducive to these goals. As part of these efforts, ISAG supports Short-Term Research Visits (STRV), allowing ISAG members to visit affiliated laboratories or institutes abroad for up to six months. These visits aim to foster collaboration and the exchange of techniques not available in their home institutions.

Objectives:

  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration among researchers worldwide.
  • Support young scientists in advancing their research careers.
  • Promote publications in Animal Genetics.
  • Utilize ISAG's financial resources to support its mission effectively.

Conditions:

  • Applicants, sending institutions/PIs, and host institutions/PIs must be current ISAG members.
  • Sending institutions/PIs, and host institutions/PIs must be in two different countries (support cannot be used for a student to visit a lab within the same country).
  • Submit applications to the ISAG Executive Committee with scientific objectives, work plans, benefits of the exchange (2-3 pages), and CVs.
  • Duration: 2 to 6 months.
  • ISAG provides financial support for travel expenses (round-trip tickets), accommodation costs, or a daily allowance of €50, up to a maximum of €10,000.
  • Final reports will be published on the ISAG web page.
  • Applicants are encouraged to publish their results in Animal Genetics and present them at upcoming ISAG meetings.
