Dr. Christa Kühn studied veterinary medicine at the Veterinary University Hannover and received her doctorate at the Institute for Animal Breeding and Genetics at the Veterinary University Hannover. She has served on the editorial boards of Animal Genetics and the Journal of Dairy Science. Kühn has also served as the associate editor for Genetics Selection Evolution, as well as senior editor (Genetics and Breeding) for the Journal of Dairy Science.
Currently, Kühn serves the following positions:
• Head of the Institute of Genome Biology of the Research Institute for Farm Animal Biology (FBN), Dummerstorf
• Professor of genetics of disease resistance at the Agricultural and Environmental Faculty of the University of Rostock
• Head of the Research Unit Genome Physiology
• Deputy head of the FBN (research and development)

Marcel Amills earned his PhD in Veterinary Sciences in 1996 and currently he is an associate professor at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and researcher at the Centre for Research in Agricultural Genomics. His research is focused on the genetic dissection of milk traits in goats, deciphering the molecular basis of caprine lactation and also reconstructing the history of goat breeds based on genome-wide polymorphism data.
