Memberships are based on a calendar year. Membership terms begin in January and expire in December. Renewal dues payments are required in January of each year. There are two main types of membership - Institutional and Individual.

Individual Membership

Individual members have full voting rights and are entitled to participate in all Society functions. Individual members receive the following benefits:

• An online subscription to Animal Genetics.
• A reduced subscription rate to the print version of Animal Genetics.
• Reduced registration fees to the ISAG bienniel conferences.
• 20% discount on selected books published by Blackwell Publishing

Institutional Membership

Institutional members receive the following benefits:

• Participation in Comparison and Reference Tests.
• The ISAG Journal, Animal Genetics, which is published in six volumes per year.
  
  NB: Staff members of laboratories which are Institutional members are not entitled to any special privileges or voting rights, and they are encouraged to become Individual members.
