Registration Information

Registration for the 2012 ISAG conference will be available only on-line using the link below until July 5th, 2012. By submitting this registration form, the delegate acknowledges that there is no right to lodge damage claims against the organisers of the conference should there be unexpected program changes or should participation be hindered or prevented by unforeseen political or economic events or by force majeure. With registration, the delegate accepts this proviso.

Please read the following registration information carefully before proceeding to the online registration page. There will be a fee of AUS$15 for registration mistakes that must be manually corrected.

Note that in order to submit an abstract and present a poster, you must be pre-registered for the conference. Registration includes the welcome reception, all scientific sessions, morning & afternoon teas, lunches, conference dinner, and conference booklet. (Student registration also includes all of these items). Day registration just includes the scientific sessions, morning & afternoon tea, and lunch for that day plus the conference booklet.

It will not be possible to register for the conference on-line after July 5th, 2012. Registration on-site will commence on Sunday, July 15th when the registration desk opens at 12:30 pm.

Students
Student registration includes the welcome reception, all scientific sessions, morning & afternoon teas, lunches, conference dinner, and conference materials. To qualify for the student registration, students must include documentation verifying enrolment in an institution of tertiary education. This can be either formal documentation from the University (eg transcript) or a letter from the supervisor. Students must also be current ISAG members. Note that the student discount will only apply to the first 100 students. Therefore, early registration is strongly recommended.

Travel bursaries
To assist early career scientists to participate in the conference, the International Society of Animal Genetics also offers a generous number of travel bursaries. Please apply for a travel award if you are eligible as an early career scientist (see Bursaries). To qualify for a bursary, you must submit an abstract, attend the conference and present a poster. The deadline for travel bursaries is March 15th, 2012. Note that the travel bursaries will be formally recognised at the business meeting at the end of the conference.

The Australian conference organizers are applying on behalf of conference attendees from AusAid supported countries for travel support. To be considered for AusAid travel support, please provide the appropriate documentation by March 15th, 2012 (see Bursaries).

Accompanying Persons/Partners
The partners program includes the welcome reception, a meet & greet session, conference dinner, and name badge plus conference bag. Note the tickets for the conference dinner and welcome reception on site are subject to availability.

Registration desk
The ISAG registration desk at the Cairns Convention Centre will be open on Sunday, July 15th from 12:30 – 6:30 pm so that delegates may pick up their materials prior to the start of the conference. The desk will be also open from approximately 8 am to 6 pm each day of the conference except for Wednesday.

Posters may be mounted on the afternoon of July 15th in Hall 2 and exhibits installed. The speaker ready room will also be available starting at 12:30 pm.

Cancellations
Cancellations will not be accepted after May 31st, 2012. Refunds will be available until the end of May, but only if the request is in writing to the conference organisers. A $100 cancellation fee will apply. Refunds may require up to 3 months. Substituting a registered delegate for another party is possible, but the request must be in writing to the conference organisers with the name and contact details of the replacement party. A $50 service fee will apply. The replacement must present the original confirmation letter at the conference registration desk on-site.
