Ying Yu is a professor in the Department of Animal Breeding and Genetics at the College of Animal Science and Technology, China Agricultural University. She also is a member of the international Farm Animal Genotype-Tissue Expression (FarmGTEx) Consortium. She holds a PhD in animal breeding and genetics from China Agricultural University. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at University of Maryland (College Park, MD, USA). She has previously served as the executive chair of the 2020 online workshop on epigenetic regulations and animal and human health, as well as the secretary general of the 2018 International Symposium on Animal Health and Inheritance of Disease Resistance. Her research currently focuses on (1) disease resistance of dairy cattle and dual-purpose cattle; (2) genetic and epigenetic regulatory mechanisms of animal health and sperm quality; (3) risk assessment of subclinical and clinical mastitis in dairy cattle; and (4) mechanisms of inter/trans-generational epigenetic inheritance and its application in animal precision breeding. She has published over 150 papers in high-impact international and national journals such as Nature Genetics, Molecular Biology and Evolution, BMC Biology, JASB, FASEB J, JDS, and more, as the first or corresponding (including joint) author.
