ISAG/IFAG 2017 Travel Bursaries

A number of general ISAG/IFAG funded travel bursaries are available to provide master's or PhD students and early career scientists with financial resources to participate in the 2017 ISAG Conference.

These bursaries are intended to cover travel expenses plus 50% of the conference fee. A general travel bursary will not cover all expenses related to the conference.

There are also some ISAG/IFAG travel bursaries to facilitate participation by master's or PhD students and early career scientists currently enrolled at or employed by an institution in an eligible developing country (check the list of eligible countries here). For the winners of the developing countries bursaries ISAG will provide meeting registration, airline tickets, and the cost of hotel accommodations.

Please note that there are two types of travel bursaries for both the general and the developing country options:
Student bursaries for currently enrolled master's or PhD students
Early career bursaries for active scientists who have received a master's or PhD within the last five years

The bursaries are awarded to the individual and cannot be transferred to someone else.

To qualify for a bursary, you must submit an abstract by February 22, 2017, attend the conference in person, and present a poster.

Recent dated documentation in English verifying your status as a student or as a recent graduate must be provided. Either a formal certification from your university or a letter from your supervisor on the letterhead of the institute will be accepted.

If you have previously received a bursary of the same type, you will not be considered as a candidate.

If you meet the eligibility criteria and would like your abstract to be considered for a travel bursary, you should check the radio button for the appropriate bursary when submitting the abstract, and provide the requested documentation.

Bursaries will be awarded based on the quality of abstracts. The review will be performed by an ad hoc committee nominated by the Executive Committee of ISAG. Notification of the result to the bursary applicants will be made by April 5, 2017.
